The Project: Marlena came to me with an old website (circa 2010), big plans to expand her private nutrition counseling practice, and a whole lot of heart for her clients. We worked together to define her voice and craft heartfelt website copy that speaks to her unique work with eating disordered clients. I continue to provide content writing support for Marlena’s blog.

Roman Garcia, Waggle

The Project: Roman and I first connected as agency colleagues. Soon enough, we both found ourselves pursuing our own entrepreneurial endeavours on the side. He an editorial startup dedicated to supporting healthy, social relationships between people and their dogs. Me a copywriting and content service agency. Roman’s marketing strategy expertise paired with my writing experience made for a perfect team. (Plus, how could I say no to writing about dogs?) So, I stepped in to help define the Waggle brand voice, create a content plan, execute an ongoing editorial calendar, and serve as managing editor.

She served as a contributor and managing editor for my startup for more than two years, overseeing so many important responsibilities—from content planning and writing to managing a diverse team of contributors across the country. The Project: Oh, hey! This is me. If you like what you see on this little website of mine, guess what. I wrote and designed all of it. This is my voice but capturing an array of client voices is all in a day’s work. Scope out my style around these parts or hop over to my Contently portfolio for more.

In My Words: You’re here now and that’s pretty darn rad. So I’d say things are working out pretty well, wouldn’t you? A creative spirit on a mission (and budget), I DIYed my entire site with a little help from my friends at Elegant Themes and The Design Space. I implemented the same process I use for my website copywriting clients, starting with industry and keyword research and moving into website wireframes, copywriting, and multiple rounds of (self-inflicted) revisions before launching. I don’t offer website design services, but am happy to provide recommendations and consulting during your project.
