Talking Website Copy on Mistakes Make Magic

Copywriting

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with wedding photographer and educator Catherine Guidry on her podcast, Mistakes Make Magic. On this episode, we talked all about how to write clear, compelling website copy that resonates with your ideal clients.

As a website copywriter, I can talk about copy all day like it’s my business. But unless you’re a fellow copywriter, you probably prefer to spend your time on just about anything else.

Of course, as a business owner, you gotta write a lotta copy. Beyond your website copy, you have Instagram ads, sales emails, landing pages, pricing guides, and… this list goes on.

Whether you enjoy it or not, writing is part of the job description—and writing about your own business is not always easy. It can be hard to see your own blind spots, but with a few adjustments, you can write more effective copy (without staring at the blank page for hours).

Tune in to find out how.

If you’re a service provider or creative entrepreneur, you’re going to love the copywriting tips and website strategies we talk about in this episode.

In Episode 080: The Secret to Converting Clients, Catherine and I talk about:

  • Why website copy informs design (and not the other way around)
  • Common website copywriting mistakes and how to fix them
  • Where to find fuel for your copy (hint: it’s easier than you might think)
  • The sweet spot between “just enough” and “too much” website copy

In addition to being a brilliant lifestyle photographer and educator, Catherine is a rockstar interviewer. She knew all the right questions to ask, so I know you’ll walk away from this episode with at least a few “ah-ha” moments. If you love podcasts as much as I do, I know you’ll love this episode! Grab your headphones and give it a listen right here.
